No. 21 Fall 2012.

Since I've been neglecting my blog this past week, I wanted to start the weekend off right! No. 21 for fall is just what I needed after my very busy week at work. Now, time to have a little fun and maybe throw a little jewel in my hair for good measure. File as happy Friday!

Fendi Fall 2012.

Although I may be feeling less than warrior-like this week (already being beaten down by a whole lot of work) Fendi's fall collection is just the thing to bring me right back up. Filled with avatar-inspired looks (or should we say that Hunger Games-inspired now?) and fur aplenty, being tough never looked so chic. File as fight on.

Top Shots: MFW Fall 2012 Part I.

Knew this would happen- ADR in the ultimate Balenciaga visor from spring.

I spy with my little eye, Ms. Natalie Joos!

3D floral madness.

Newfound obsession with geometric prints. Does this come in a rug version?

ADR in Raf Simons for Jil Sander's last spring collection for the house! In mourning.

Reminds me of children's pajamas...in the best way possible.

Stiff competition between flats vs. heels.

Hyperventilating over how fab this Prada coat is.

Gumby never looked so good.

All smiles with Chanel!
How to elongate your legs 101.

Models get hot too ya know.

Leather jacket dres?! NEED.

Puppies are always the best accessories. That and Miu Miu pumps.

It's like tribal with a twist of floral and sexy, but opulent.

The Isabel Marant It sneakers for the season in action!

Dolce and Gabbana Fall 2012.

Even though the Dolce and Gabbana collection for fall may have seemed all over the place, the Baroque (call it Gothic if you like) touches were a constant reminder of the beauty of it all. The standard D&G shapes- bloomer with a bloussant shirt, emphasis on the waist for corseted dresses and second skin embroideries- were all there, but seemed to take on a life of their own this season when the mood in Milan and elsewhere has been rather dark. Come fall, those Marie Antoinette-inspired platforms will be the number one item on my wish list, not for my feet, but rather as a piece of art for my home. File as maj.

Jil Sander Fall 2012.

Definitely a moment worth remembering during the fall presentations. Raf Simons final (and rather emotionally charged) collection for Jil Sander could not have been summed up any better than Mr. Tim Blanks in the quote above. File as to be missed.

Roberto Cavalli Fall 2012.

Leopards and tigers and snakes, oh my. Roberto Cavalli's fall runway was a veritible breeding ground of species, and just like the tiger print rug on the floor (made out of tens of thousands of flowers) his collection was all about the inherent mysterious qualities of the wild. Pailettes that looked like fish scales were actually made of leather. Tiger and zebra stripes on pants were created with sequins. Minks became crocodiles; crocodiles became snakeskin and brocades were made with fur. In the end, it was all about the beauty of nature...and nature never looked so good. File as into the wild.

Dion Lee Fall 2012.

Dion Lee is probably the only designer I've featured this season who is worthy of the term newcomer. The Australian's debut into the London fashion scene for fall was full of flirty dresses which wrapped around the models bodies as if they were draped right on them at that very moment. One thing I'm looking forward to, is what is has in store for next season. File as anticipation.

Burberry Prorsum Fall 2012.

Usually I'm one to want to banish the rain, but with Burberry's most recent runway show...I might be singing another tune come fall. Beautiful coats, hats and booties walked a fine line between kitschy, urban and chic without an ounce of luxury to spare. While those studded gloves may have me also wishing for colder temperatures, it was the emphasis on the hips (with ruffles, peplums and belts, oh my) that I'll be recreating as soon as possible. File as rain, rain come again some other day.

Antonio Berardi Fall 2012.

Lisbeth Salander it seems, has been all over the fall runways in New York, Milan, Paris and as you can see here, London. Her influence is widespread- from the cropped haircuts at Calvin Klein Collection to the dark subversiveness that seems to be in many of the collections put forth so far (Versace being one in particular that stood out)- but that isn't to say that the actress herself or (the not-as-good as the Swedish version) movie are either solely responsible for all this moodiness. After a spring full of sweet and funky florals, uber-pastels and ladylike charm it was only a matter of time until things got well...a little darker. Antonio Berardi showcased his Lisbeth for fall and even though she was a bit more glamorous, she still had something desirable hiding in all those heavy folds. File as strength.

Top Shots: LFW Fall 2012.

So psychedelic it's making my brain explode.

Neon, grey, fur and a wide leg pant. Quadruple check!

Totally feeling this mix of textures and prints.

Sometimes just a little poof of fur at the sleeves is all you need...

...And other days require something a bit more extravagent. Take this Burberry jacket.

A Beatles moment crossing the street.

A little rain never hurt anyone.
