Home to Runway: Purple Pop.

When I was a little girl I convinced my father to paint my room a lovely shade of lavender, but since then I have not been the biggest fan of such shades of purple. Now deep plums are always a color I gravitate towards, but those soft lavenders just never had the same effect on me like when I was little. Stumbling across this interior though, with just a touch of light purple (like on the model's tip-toes) I feel myself coming around to this color I once surrounded myself with. File as pretty.

It Girl: Hanneli Mustaparta.

What is there to say about Hanneli that hasn't already been said? Gorgeous Norwegian-born model turned blogger turned fashion maven, this girl has had quite the career (with quite the closet to match.) Featured in Vogue and across the blog-sphere, she always seems to get it just right when it comes to mixing the hottest pieces of the season. Follow her on twitter @HanneliM, read her blog daily (like yours truly) and try not to be too jealous of the ridiculous shoes she always has. File as sweet.

Black Friday.

There won't be any shopping for me today, but I hope everyone had good luck this morning in getting exactly what they lined up for. Instead, I'll be celebrating this black Friday by wearing head-to-toe black and seeing the Christmas tree light up in Union Square with friends, which (at least to me) sounds so much more exciting than a great deal. File under fun.

Many Thanks.

Happy holiday weekend loves; I hope you are all enjoying this chilly day and eating as much as your stomach will fit. I'm definitely saving my holiday diet for another day. I want to thank all of those who have helped me with this blog endeavor of mine and supported me, especially my readers! I don't know what I'd do without ya! Also, a million thanks to my friends, without whom I would be spending my Thanksgiving alone on the street in search of food. File as feeling very lucky.

Edited: Pure White.

If there is one color I'm eternally trying to work into my look it would be white. I, like many others, fall prey to an all black ensemble on more mornings than I'd like to admit. There is something just so pristine about wearing white though that I seem to instantly spill on it whenever I wear even a sliver of this non-color. Alas, I just purchased a super-white Zara jacket, but I have a feeling it will trading places for the black version by the end of the week. File as so clean.

Look of the Week: Glam Dining.

Tom Ford Spring 2012.

Just a little something to perk you up on this rather chilly (well at least in the Bay Area) Monday, it's Tom Ford's spring presentation which was finally released on Friday. Go over to Vogue.com to check out all thirty six looks along with a rather long review. I would expect nothing less from the man who always leaves the fashion set wanting more. File as so amazing.

Party Girl: A Very Glam Thanksgiving.

We’ve all seen enough cornucopia and pine-cone turned turkey centerpieces (ok, so I did love that craft as a kid) so for next week’s holiday celebration why not spare the arts and crafts and instead join around the table for a fall harvest party complete with topiary centerpieces. Even though Thanksgiving has turned out to be quite a bogus holiday for us Americans (sorry to the pilgrims) it doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate with good intentions and just be thankful for well, whatever it is you feel thankful for. For me, the end of November is always my favorite time of year for two reasons in particular: spending time with my closest friends (family time doesn’t happen until Christmas) and eating all the mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie my heart desires.  Now those are things to be grateful for. File as time to celebrate.

Sweet Friday.

I've been caught red-handed...well not exactly red-handed, but I've been caught eating entirely too many sweets this past week (hence why my J-Brands are a little more snug than usual) but what can I say; I have an addiction to Sour Patch Kids and Mexican Cola that I just can't shake. So as a (very) early new years (or perhaps a less early birthday) resolution, I'm banishing the snacks and going back to eating healthy, which means no more sugary sweet snacks in my future. Well, maybe I'll start after this weekend considering I do have one bag of Sour Patch Kids left in my pantry, a holiday party to attend and another day at the horse races. Hope everyone has a sweet weekend too, until Monday! File as indulge.

Coveting: Black and Gold.

It's a double dose of Home to Runway this week! Although I spent the early part of my day shopping for non-home items in San Francisco, I couldn't help but peek into a few home stores around Union Square considering I can never have enough lamps, side tables or funky art. Keep reading after the jump for the black and gold items that I'm currently lusting after! File under gold standard.

Home to Runway: Tough chick.

With my impending move to a mystery location (more on that later) I've been having to sort through all my home decor items and while some of them are getting packed up, most of them are being gifted to my dear friends or donated off to the Goodwill down the street. This move couldn't have come at a better time, while I find my home style straying from the what can only be described as girlie and glamorous to something well, a little more rough around the edges. Like the clothes on Lanvin's spring runway, I have a feeling my next place will include a deeper palette, richly reflective vintage pieces and a masculine edge that is oh-so-cool. File as man up.

It Girl: Natalie Joos.

Natalie Joos might have the most covetable job in New York City (well at least for yours truly) as casting agent and fashion consultant for designers such as Philip Lim, Hugo Boss and Mark Fast among others. Not only that, but she's also a fellow blogger to boot over at Tales of Endearment and has a closet that rivals most vintage stores. What I can't get enough of is her fun and fearless use of prints, interesting shapes and of course that wild mane of hair that makes everything she puts together seem perfectly cool, making this Belgian beauty the It Girl of the week! Happy Monday to all! File as work it girl.

Friday, again?

Where did this week go? I'm really not sure what happened, but this week seriously went by faster than the length of time it took to make the cappuccino sitting in front of me. As you can probably guess, the dreary weather here in the Bay Area has got me longing for a cozy weekend spent wrapped in snuggly blankets and maybe even a little something fur to keep me warm. Instead though, I'll be spending this weekend with old friends at a concert in the city, testing my gambling luck at the horse races and maybe even watching my newly purchased Tom Ford's A Single Man (if not just to snuggle up for a minute.) Hope everyone has a fun-filled weekend planned too! Stay tuned next week for lots and lots of great posts and a couple for this weekend. File as reboot time.

Home to Runway.

Something that I'm becoming more and more aware of as my personal style evolves, is that decorating your space is just like curating that perfect outfit. For me, neither are complete unless there is a touch of animal print, a piece that looks like it might have a few years on me and lots (never enough) black. Notice any style trends in your space that translate to your wardrobe? Stay tuned for more weekly posts of Home to Runway, my absolute favorite mash-ups of gorgeous spaces and runway looks. File under style accordingly.

Eats: Zucchini Fritters.

One of my favorite little pick-me ups while in Rome was these delightful fritters that my roommate would make as an appetizer (before we stuffed ourselves with ridiculous amounts of pasta, obviously) and these still bring me back to the fresh zucchini we'd find at the market down the street from our apartment. I haven't made them since I've been home, but I have a feeling I'll be breaking out the grater this week, to have a little taste of my Rome home. Keep reading after the jump for the complete recipe and file as yummy memories.

Oh, Weekend.

Goal for the weekend: Wear something fabulous in my closet that I haven't worn in ages each night, or else it's going in the donation bin. Who says you can't dress up for a late night showing of Midnight in Paris with you girlfriend or for a dinner date at the BBQ joint down the street? Hope everyone has a fun weekend, filled with style, wherever you may be headed. File as all out.

Best of PFW Spring 2012.

Allright, so I know Paris Fashion Week was like eons ago in fashion time, but I just had to share with you my top twenty individual looks from the shows at one of the most exciting cities in the world. My favorite look out of everything? It would be a tough decision between that Carven red voluminous dress (need it immediately) or the Ann Demeulemeester fringe madness come dress. As you can see, I'm all about the drama right now, whether it's in a deceptively pure look, a bared shoulder or a creamy dreamy head-to-toe look (not just for painters anymore)...I just can't get enough of it. Keep reading after the jump to see the breakdown of each look. File as to wear next season.

It Girl: Miroslava Duma.

Miroslava Duma, freelance fashionista for publications including Harper's Bazaar Russia, Glamour Russia and her own blog is one of those women that I've been stalking for quite some time now. Ok, well not really stalking, more accurately I've been lusting over her ability to throw together fabulous outfits that run the gamut from sweet and fun to sophisticated and always with a sense of whimsy. Take those round sunnies she's always spotted in, those sky-high heels to show off her gorgeous gams or all those little clutches (perfect for her size frame.) She may be petite, but Mira sure knows how to make a serious impact off the runway. File as work it.
