Top Shots: NYFW Fall 2012 Part II.

OMG OMG OMG OMG...Those shoes are amazeballs.

Furry hat, for a fabulous lady.

Quite possibly my favorite animal- bears!- and on elbow pads no less.

Why hello there Miss It Girl Hanneli Mustaparta.

Now that is a lot of hair.

Another It Girl spotted: Kate Lanphear.

Totally my look- she even got the bangs down, too.

HATS galore at Prabal!

This just might be one of the chicest outfits I have ever laid eyes on. #ChicToTheNextLev

Cheeky, cheeky.

New favorite color: washed out tangerine.

Oh hiiiii Miss Shala Monroque.

More Prabal madness.

Vera Wang's color palette was mighty different than what she previewed with Vogue. Beautiful nonetheless!

I spy with my little eye, another It Girl...Miroslava Duma.

Need this purse, or something just like it.

Bye, bye NYFW!

Best Dressed: Oscars 2012.

Sorry it took me like a year to get to this! Well, OK, maybe it took more like a few days, but I am practically bursting to share with you my best dressed from the Oscars on Sunday night. I would say that Emma Stone the second time around in Chanel was best dressed for the night, but I seriously cannot get over Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton or Stacy Keibler in Marchesa (totally knew someone would wear it, but was thinking it was a little closer to Jennifer Lopez's style.) Can I also just mention that I guessed right that the red ruffled pre-fall Valentino gown would be worn on the Oscar red carpet (the Vanity Fair party is close enough!) Just had to toot my own horn for a second there. File as four way tie.

J. Mendel Fall 2012.

Another J for the past few days, J. Mendel's fall collection fell right between pretty and chic, fantastic and dreamy. But it was the etherial gray strapless dress that had me swooning the most (#megachic) along with those fur pieces (gorg) that would cause un uproar with PETA. Although Rooney Mara may have already been spotted on the red carpet in the plum flared mini, there's always the rest of the collection to look forward to come fall. File as beautiful

Marc Jacobs Fall 2012.

I'm feeling a little loopy lately. I don't know if it's the early drive home from San Francisco after a fun-filled last week of vacation (new job starts tomorrow), spending the day cramped in the closet organizing all my new work clothes (oh, Forever 21) or how anxious I am to be working for one of my favorite brands (in the Forever 21 marketing department, of course) but my new obsession with the Marc Jacobs collection for fall must be symptomatic from all the craziness that is happening around me right now. Take one hat from a certain 90's pop sensation (remember Jamiroquai kiddies?) one kohl-rimmed eye (well OK, two) of Marchesa Casati, one artist (Rachel Feinstein) to create the perfectly dilapidated set, shoes better set for one seriously fabulous pilgrim, and a whole lot of eccentric embellishments and you have yourself the kookiest (and probably least wearable) Marc collection to date. The best part, other than the clothes obviously, was the tune that played while the models sashayed down the set- "Who Will Buy?" File as so ironic/crazy/awesome.

Top Shots NYFW Fall 2012 Part I.

#ToatsWang

Backstage Ralph Lauren gorgeousness.

It Girl Caroline Sieber, only you could pull off Yeti chic.

Simply stunning color combinations here.

What a cutie!

It Girl Miroslava Duma rocking Proenza from a few seasons back. LOVE.

White and red never looked so fab.

Another monochromatic look...perfection.

Even this pup has a fierce street style pose.

...Almost as fierce as a rather grown up looking Tavi Gevinson.

Smokey eyes at Marc Jacobs.

Could definitely use some pink pants like these.

Matchy, matchy ladies.

It's so fluffy!

Zac Posen, pre-show.

J. Crew Fall 2012.

After sharing the rather dramatic Marchesa collection yesterday with you, I wanted to bring the look a little closer to reality here with J.Crew's new fall presentation. Unlike those in the past for the major retailer, this one was devoid of any blandness, had a rather funky edge and continued the store's always sophisticated overall look. Not to mention that there were some seriously fashionable pieces that I am dying to add to my wardrobe come fall- specifically that snakeskin pencil skirt and those floral/ink-splotch cropped pants. File as totally wearable.

Marchesa Fall 2012.

Taking a complete 180 from yesterday, I figured it fitting to showcase one of the most romantic and not to mention gorgeous collections from the fall runways at New York- Marchesa. Never one to disappoint in the drama factor, this time around the duo (that's Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig) found inspiration in a slightly darker place, which affected their aesthetic in a truly stunning way. Skeleton printed slips, embroidery snaking like backbones down dresses, rich feathers and mounds of lace- I ate it all up, even though I'm not feeling in the most romantic moods this week. Mostly what I loved about it was that these girls are finally showing that their dresses aren't just a bunch of fluff.

Validation.

I totally came across this quote yesterday when I was searching for a sense of validation to a recent decision. Oscar could not have made me feel any better, with this perfectly lovely quote. File doing it.

Proenza Schouler Fall 2012.

If there is one collection that fits perfectly with my mood today it would have to be that of Proenza Schouler. For their fall runway presentation, it was all about protection (the martial arts inspired shapes), contemplating their beginnings (those bird embellishments referenced their first breakout collection) and experimenting in new territory (brocades are a first for them.) Having just sealed my status as a newly single lady, I can't imagine any other fall collection in its entirety at NYFW that would make me feel more fierce to put on in the morning than Proenza. File as obsessed.
