Dolce and Gabbana Fall 2012.

Even though the Dolce and Gabbana collection for fall may have seemed all over the place, the Baroque (call it Gothic if you like) touches were a constant reminder of the beauty of it all. The standard D&G shapes- bloomer with a bloussant shirt, emphasis on the waist for corseted dresses and second skin embroideries- were all there, but seemed to take on a life of their own this season when the mood in Milan and elsewhere has been rather dark. Come fall, those Marie Antoinette-inspired platforms will be the number one item on my wish list, not for my feet, but rather as a piece of art for my home. File as maj.
