-----Prabal Gurung Resort 2013-----

I am definitely needing a little glamour today. Let's just say that my own life has been rather limited in terms of the glam factor recently. I've been spending the last two weekends attempting to get a hold on my ever-growing laundry pile, the ever-present mess in the apartment I've been staying in, and the never-ending feeling that I will never be able to get my manicure just right. But alas! Prabal Gurung's resort presentation was exactly what I needed to stumble upon this weekend to remind myself that there is still glamour to be had, and sometimes from the most unexpected of places (or people for that matter.) File as looking up.

-Manday Monday: Menswear Spring 2013-

Hmmm...How is your Manday Monday going? After ogling the boys above (shameless flirt), I have to admit that mine is going oh, so much better now. I'm not sure if I could pick my favorite man, I mean look, but I do have a soft spot for a Chuck Bass skinny suit just as much as I do a good neck tattoo. File as happy Manday Monday kiddies.

Marchesa Resort 2013

Call me crazy, but I feel like I have been swept up by the whole wedding season bonanza as of late. Friends are tying the knot left and right, Pinterest is overflowing with bridal boards, my mother is now talking about my wedding as if I have a boyfriend who is even interested in the notion, and my bank account is slowly depleting. For my dear friend's wedding which I will be a part of (my first!), I searched for months for a bridesmaid's dress, and after looking at a whole slew of them that just scream "hey, I'm uncomfortable and unflattering; pick me!" I was overjoyed to come across a lovely, understated but still appropriate dress from Asos (not to mention affordable.) And now, after pouring over Marchesa's resort  2013 collection, I couldn't help but admire the beautiful options for brides, bridesmaids and mother's of the bride alike. Whether for an understated bash or an all out glamour-fest, these looks are totally picture-perfect. File as hello, gorgeous.

ApartmentPhile: My Next Place Option II.

Back to decor inspiration for my next place (still pending obviously as I'm doing this here virtually and not for realsies.) This approach (check out my first option by clicking here) is one that I'm much more accustomed to when it comes to getting dressed each day. Internally, it happens a little like this...

"...Love leopard. Oooh, but maybe one animal print in one outfit isn't enough? That fringed leather mini-skirt looks so maj with the prints. Now what about adding a floral print to this? Well wait, you can't have leopard print without adding a Missoni zig-zag stripe. Okay, time to add the bracelets, but one is just not enough. Four it is. Oh, and that ring is super cute, must wear that one...and the other one stacked with it since they both look so good together. Geez, now I need a shoe that doesn't have an animal print on it..."

Blame it on my desire to impress at my job or just my general obsession with all things style-related, but I have been straying very far from my more classic look of years past (exempting of course that blue vinyl vest and matching skirt in 4th grade...) But I digress! This possible look for my next (still undetermined) tiny-ass apartment is all about layering it on, much like I do each morning, but the real question is- do I want to style my place how I style myself on my craziest days or my most mellow days? File under conundrum.

------Louis Vuitton Resort 2013------

Prints and pleats and fur and platforms...oh, my. Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton brought the flirty girl back just in time for resort season in a departure from his rather reserved (but still very covetable) fall showing. And who says that your resort season can't start this weekend? Strap on those platforms, throw on a matching printed short suit (the cutest suit look I've seen thus far) and grab your Speedy for the perfect weekend look, whether you'll be at a resort or not. File as Monday dreaming.

-------Insta-Files: Styling Sesh------

SO...I was at work the other day and couldn't take my mind off these orange creamsicle moto pants (see here); however instead of being a rational person and just ordering them online (same day delivery at headquarters #jobperk) I figured I had to swing by my nearest Forever 21 on the way home. BUT, instead of finding the pants, I came across these two beauties. Part one: olive green button-up eyelet romper and part two: dip bleached soft as a baby's bottom cropped denim jacket (which is the perfect unstructured and oversized fit.) Stay tuned for outfit posts to follow. File as obsessed

---------Chanel Resort 2013--------

Although I may be stuck inside cleaning up the apartment I'm staying in on this rather beautiful Saturday, I'm dreaming of spending time in a glam garden in the heart of Versailles...much like the Chanel Resort presentation this month. Little Maries complete with bold wigs and dramatic tattoos flounced around Marie Antoinette's estate showing that the queen will always live. File as garden of earthly delights.

Insta-Files: SF Adventures.

So what did I do this weekend? I think the more appropriate question would be what didn't I do this weekend. Although I may have only spent a few days in sunny San Francisco, it felt like I was there for a full week (in the best way possible.) I got to take it all in...strolling through the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibition at the de Young, shopping (and lots of eating) in Japantown, riding bikes around Golden Gate Park, partying it up with one of the most beautiful brides-to-be and some dearly missed friends, catching the most fabulous sushi documentary ever made, enjoying my free upgrade at Hotel Vertigo and of course, kicking my feet up after walking miles and miles and miles each day. File as one successful trip.

SF or Bust.

Another weekend...another getaway. Yep, that's right, I'm jetting off again this weekend. Not to the desert this time, but rather to my old hometown- the Bay Area! I'll be staying at the cutest (and rather Hitchcock famous) boutique hotel just a stone's throw from Union Square, spending time with some of my best friends and doing all the fabulous San Francisco things I can think of. A few of which definitely include checking out the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibition at the de Young, stopping at one of my favorite old theaters to catch a movie, eating my body weight in fresh crab, making a pit stop at the to-die-for H&M on Powell Street and of course making a trip to Tartine Bakery. Until Monday! File as love this city.

ApartmentPhile: My Next Place Option I.

Even though I may not have a place of my own just quite yet (fingers crossed that I can afford something in the next few months)...a girl can dream! And I am definitely one who loves apartments and all their quirks- hence the new ApartmentPhile post label. So over the next few weeks, I wanted to share some of the apartment design styles that I've been throwing around (virtually of course) one of which will make it into my next tiny-ass apartment. The style featured below may be equal bits rustic, glam, chic and industrial but it makes a very big statement with just a simple color palette. File as hard chic, option one.

Insta-Files: Vegas Vacation.

My little Vegas vacation (Griswald style all the way) may have been a little bit last minute, but it was totally worth the shlep. After dining at some seriously delicious restaurants, laying by the pool to finally get rid of my ghostly white legs and doing a little retail therapy (those are my mom's new Topshop shoes *swoon*) it was just the thing I needed to perk myself back up...for my next vacation this coming weekend. Talk about insane. File as jetsetter.

Last Minute Getaway.

SO...it seems I'm going to be making a very last minute trip over to Las Vegas this weekend. (What makes it into my suitcase will probably look a lot like the above plus leopard.) After all the madness that's been happening in my life lately, the only things I want to do include laying by a big ol' pool, eating lots and lots of delicious (unhealthy) foods, shopping the new summer/pre-fall collections in peace and wearing all sorts of leopard print. And where else can you get away with a full-on leopard print outfit than in Vegas? File as escaping.
