Alexander Wang, the perennially cool kid, upped the ante for this fall with a collection that was far from his origins of distressed t-shirts and worn-in looks. Not only in the evolved construction of the garments and the "extreme fabric manipulation" (his words, not mine) but most importantly in his bags (inspired by gun cases, no less) one could see his growth that is not only more controlled but reflects a more distorted, surreal perception (not surprising for a young designer of such immense fame.) I was particularly in love with his boots and not to mention all the leather that has been all over the runways. Come winter, I have a feeling I'll be all wrapped up in some futuristic-looking leather pieces, dreaming of owning a piece by Mr. Wang. File as transformation.
