For spring Karl Lagerfeld took us down under to the sea but at his couture presentation last week, he brought us back up on dry land, well a little bit higher to be precise, all the way up into the open air. Air Chanel, departing from Paris, was a directional statement for the fashion house, yet the clothes weren't anywhere near what you'd wear on even a domestic flight. Instead he took from the air a lighter approach- the sparkly night sky on pantsuits, heavy clouds showed up in beaded dresses and the color palette was blue, blue, blue. Overall, what could have been like a bad Pan Am flight became something more exquisite, more refined and definitely more lust-worthy. File as arrived.
