Hello, Boys.

Love the Prada mister.

No fear of hot pink here.

Grass green is the perfect summer short color.

Which would you rather have?

Perfect shirt, tie and suit color combination. Well done.

Pitti Uomo, the Italian trade show dedicated to all things mens' style is in full swing and with it comes some of the most extravagant and fun men's fashion I've seen in a very long time. Looking at the guys above, they seriously know how to inject a little spot of color into any look. All in all, it is totally fresh for summer. Keep reading after the jump to see my absolute favorite picture from the week and file this one as summer loving.

Buy Alexander Wang Now.

Less is more. Ditch all the makeup
and keep it to the essentials—keys,
money, and phone. It’s a lot sexier when a
girl isn’t carrying around a bag full of tricks.
-Alexander Wang

News flash for all the fashion addicts (including myself) out there, Alexander Wang is moving from the showroom to...eBay. You heard that right. Beginning Friday June 17th at 3AM (PT) eBay's Fashion Vault will be exclusively carrying four of his newest bags for only 24 hours. Even though there won't be any mad bidding happening, shoppers will only have the option of "buy it now," I have a feeling these little lovelies including the Zelmira wallet in ponyskin for $525, the Mini Adriel bag in ostrich for $275, the Compact Quillon in metallic for $235, and the Prisma biker purse in printed ostrich for $295 will sell like hotcakes. We will just have to wait and see who can get their hands on these fast enough. File as too cool.

It Girl: LSD.

No, the 60s are not back. LSD stands for one thing only on the.margaret.files. and one thing only- the eternally cool It Girl otherwise known as Lauren Santo Domingo. Her resume includes an undergraduate degree from USC (University of Southern California, not spoiled children), chair to many of New York's hottest society events, founder of Trunk Show Inc. (a venture aimed at getting looks straight off the runway to the wealthy few who can afford them), had her high profile wedding featured in Vogue (hello), edits the online APT with LSD for Vogue.com (sharing some of the most fashionable apartments out there) and ok, you get the point. This girl wears many hats, or rather many dresses and looks fabulous while doing it all making her the It Girl of the week. File this one as city chick.

Monday, Monday, Monday.

Monday is here, but my mind is not. So today, I wanted to share some of the things that have been inspiring me as of late. Things that don't necessarily all go together, but things I have been obsessing over nonetheless. So here, you can see a roundup of my current obsessions- those tortoiseshell sunglasses (must find), the oldie but still a goodie Alexander Wang leopard clutch, mixing my two favorite chairs the Bertoia chair with the Wishbone complete with fabulous golden leaf wall art (I think I'm in love) and kiss imprinted napkins (perfect for any party). Oh what a Monday. File as just the beginning.

Lazy Sunday.

This weekend has proved to be quite the whirlwind which is why today, Sunday, I'll be taking some time to just lounge in my favorite chair next to my window, study for my histories of photography midterm and catch up on my blog reading. I hope that everyone has a relaxing and lazy Sunday before getting back to work on Monday! Stay tuned for all the fabulous posts that were intended for this weekend, this week. File as relax.

Party Girl: Crabfest.

I lived on the east coast for some time when I was very little and although the only memories I have from there are a big blue house and the toy store, there is one tradition that I wish I would have been able to experience: the crab boil. In the south (where I mostly grew up) this would be a crayfish boil, but I've never been a fan of the smell and I've always wanted to learn how to crack a crab. Living in the Bay Area now, I have the fine fisherman at the wharf to crack my crab for me, nonetheless gathering a bunch of friends for a casual crab boil would be a perfect party to have on a warm weekend such as this one. Keep reading after the jump to check out all the party details. File as party time.

Smile, please. It's Friday.

Another weekend is here...and I must admit I am more than a little excited for this one. These two pictures epitomize the kookiness that will probably be occurring over the next couple days considering I'll be spending Friday in the library working on Spanish homework (ay dios mio), Saturday with some fabulous friends in San Francisco (more on that next week!), early (really early) Sunday morning at the Alameda flea market to dig up some vintage treasures and hopefully catching a much anticipated screening of L'Amour Fou finally. I hope that your weekend is filled with a little excitement as well...stay tuned for some awesome posts over the next couple days and a party post tonight (every Friday is worth celebrating!) So file as enjoy yourself.

Art Eye: Dance Romance.

Eadweard Muybridge, Animal Locomotion; Plate 197 (Couple Dancing)

While on my Monday Funday at SFMOMA with my histories of photography class, there was one particular room that was rather peculiar in that it was filled with hundreds, maybe even thousands of plates of animals in motion. Muybridge, best known for this stop-motion photography, recorded some that were rather odd like Plate 99 of a man moving his leg in an awkward motion, while others quite charming like the leapfrog motion, but one that I instantly recognized was Plate 197 of a couple dancing. Luckily, the high resolution print is still available for purchase on 20x200, which I think would make a fantastic gift for any couple, even if they aren't so big on dancing. File this one as romantic.

Light Seating.

I'm not sure what has drawn me so much lately to these lightly colored chairs. I've never been a huge fan of pastels mostly because I think they can be a bit too sweet. Toothaches aside, I am finding these light additions totally grown-up with a feminine and cute twist especially when paired with more rustic elements like a farmhouse table, cowhide rug or cement floor. Maybe I can find a way to work this into my dream house (imaginary for now of course.) I'm especially obsessing over the light blue Wishbone Chair. Must have...anyone know of a knockoff version? File under sweet tooth.

Best Dressed CFDA Awards.

This year's CFDA Awards came and went without even a blip on the pop culture radar, but there were a few ladies who most certainly stood out on the purple carpet. Here you can check out my top five who prove that wearing whatever you're most comfortable in is always the best way to go (unless that means wearing a track suit on the red carpet, in which case I would not recommend!) Keep reading after the jump for a breakdown of who wore whom and a list of the winners who I clearly did not do so well in guessing. File under another carpet rolled up.

Top Shots CFDA Awards 2011.

The lady of the night arrives. Her hair just might be my favorite color.

I'll always love a flush of feathers.

Chloe in one of her own designs. Playful and sweet.

Just stunning.

Hamish and Haider couldn't be styled any more different, but they're both impeccable.

May-jor earring action here.

A Day at the Museum.

Today I'm feeling terribly inspired, probably in part because of the CFDA Awards yesterday, my visit to SFMOMA and a last-minute movie with an old friend to the totally charming Midnight in Paris (go see  immediately, if not sooner.) This week I'll be putting together some fabulous new posts inspired by my Monday Funday including best dressed from the CFDA Awards, a limited edition print you'll be dying to pick up, the best of the resort collections for 2012 (traveling into the future for this one), my current home decor obsession as well as more on the totally overwhelming Stein exhibit at the museum. Ok so there is quite a lot coming up this week, but what can I say...I really was that inspired! Check out the postcards I picked up from the gift shop above and file this one as stay tuned.

Monday Funday.

I don't think I've been more excited about a Monday in a very, very long time. Today is not only the CFDA awards (hello red carpet) but I also get to spend a few hours gallivanting around SFMOMA with my histories of photography class complete with private tour by my professor. And to top it all off, I might catch the not-so-recently released L'Amour Fou down the street before meeting a friend for a little happy hour fun. Knowing my luck it will probably be raining, my BART train will be late or I'll get lost on my way to the theater; but it won't make me enjoy my Monday any less. Hope you enjoy your Monday as well! Check back Tuesday for my best dressed at the CFDA Awards and a rather belated home decor post. File as smile.

Best Dressed MTV Movie Awards.

I remember watching MTV non-stop while I was a kid (Singled Out or Made, anyone?) and although their new programming doesn't exactly appeal to me personally (sorry Teen Mom and Jersey Shore) there is never a red carpet I wouldn't want to pass up. So when I was notified that the MTV Movie Awards were here again I couldn't help but join in the young Hollywood festivities. So here, mere moments after the red carpet has been rolled up are the best dressed of the night. Now how is that for fresh? Keep reading after the jump for a breakdown of each as well as my number one pick of the night. File under so fresh.

Edited: Another Sunday.

A typical Sunday for me looks a little bit like this editorial of Julia Saner in Vogue Turkey- I go to the market to pick up food for the week, I get stuck in typical Bay Area traffic somewhere along the way, I'll take a quick run to the salon or just the bookstore next door to catch up on some reading and well...OK so I've only been to the horse races on one particular Sunday. So maybe this comparison is a little far-fetched also considering my closet is at a lack of couture. But perhaps next Sunday I'll throw on my little red dress instead of my go-to Vince leggings in an attempt to make my day a little more glamorous, if just by a little bit. File under improvement.
