ApartmentPhile: My Next Place Option III.

My boss got me thinking today. Not just about the massive to-do list I have looming over my head this week, but also about my current home situation. Instead of contemplating if the coupons were finished printing I had my mind wrapped up in duvets, chaises, and directional storage options. (Call it a job hazard if you like, but my mind often wanders to these places, unguided.) So her quest reminded me of my quest to decide my next apartment style whether it be funky, boho and super luxe like option two or chic, masculine and rich like option one. Now, I have another option to throw into the mix. It's a little less cold as the first option, a little more girly than the second and a whole lot closer to what I'm used to. Hey, I've been a single gal living on my own for quite some time...a little pink never hurt anyone. File as another choice.

Fine Dining.

Today is my dear friend's birthday, and in honor of the delicious French restaurant that we will be celebrating at (I would reveal it but it's still a secret) I figured no better way than to share these fabulous plates I stumbled upon some time ago. Although I wouldn't dare eat off them (they're too cute and silly) they would definitely make for a quirky decoration up on the wall, like my mom used to do with her fancy plates. Hope everyone enjoys this Sunday as much as my stomach will! File as chintz.

Color Flash.

It’s only the beginning of the week and I’m already more than a little stressed out. So to perk myself up I browsed through my files hoping to find something that would inspire me to not skip my classes. My solution: a shot of bright pink. I mean, how could you not be cheerful with a hot pink wall in your entryway or wearing a hot pink suit? Charlotte Free (model of the minute) went so far as to put the color on her head. Alas, until I have a place that isn’t rented or a job that allows me to wear such extravagant colors I’ll be happy to settle on a pink Prada fur poof or a pink dining table, any day of the week. Dining In.

Living in apartments well under one thousand square feet has not allowed me the privilege to have a kitchen much larger than a matchbook so it comes as no surprise that I am ecstatic about the idea of one day having one big enough to fit a table, some chairs and possibly even (gasp!) a bench. Whether it's a farmhouse table with some vintage chairs thrown around, an island to rest my elbows on or just a small nook complete with a table and comfortable bench, I've always been fond of sitting next to the warm oven and dining in...even if I am eating take-out. File under my future kitchen.
