Short Shorts Saturday.

Spending the day perusing some of my more favorite (and affordable) shops in Los Angeles with one of my dearest friend's from school, we managed not to melt away from all the heat. Although I was rocking some white denim shorts (from Forever 21, obvi) I was dreaming of wearing something closer to the one's Taylor Tomasi-Hill was spotted in during NYFW. If only, if only. File as #insane.

Game Changer: Victoria Beckham Spring 2013.

Let me start by apologizing for not being up-to-the-minute on all the NYFW fabulousness. Maybe I was just burnt out after FNO (see the LA recap here) or maybe just too busy with work planning the next big promotion and finding my next apartment, but the last thing I wanted to do this week was pour over fashion week photos. Well, after seeing the Victoria Beckham Spring 2013 collection, the tables have turned. Sleek, sexy, perfect and always on-point, the collection made me want to jump right into spring; thick cable-knit sweaters be damned. So, now that I'm back on track, stay tuned for my loveliness from NYFW because there is no better feeling than a spark of inspiration. File as until the next runway...

Best Dressed at the Met Ball 2012.

I must say that my days this week have really been lacking in the glamour department. Just last weekend, I had a feeling that I was right on the edge of a major style slump (this self-imposed "budget" is killing me), when blam (totally just yelled this is my head) The Met Gala hit! Although my daily work wear doesn't fall anywhere close to what the fab ladies above are wearing, it's definitely given me the push to stop wearing my go-to J Brand jeans every. single. day. But the real debate around the office (not involving my inability to pick a cute outfit this week) has been who was deserving of the best dressed title at this years Met Ball. J. Mendel Fall 2012.

Another J for the past few days, J. Mendel's fall collection fell right between pretty and chic, fantastic and dreamy. But it was the etherial gray strapless dress that had me swooning the most (#megachic) along with those fur pieces (gorg) that would cause un uproar with PETA. Although Rooney Mara may have already been spotted on the red carpet in the plum flared mini, there's always the rest of the collection to look forward to come fall. File as beautiful.

Marc Jacobs Fall 2012.

I'm feeling a little loopy lately. I don't know if it's the early drive home from San Francisco after a fun-filled last week of vacation (new job starts tomorrow), spending the day cramped in the closet organizing all my new work clothes (oh, Forever 21) or how anxious I am to be working for one of my favorite brands (in the Forever 21 marketing department, of course) but my new obsession with the Marc Jacobs collection for fall must be symptomatic from all the craziness that is happening around me right now. Take one hat from a certain 90's pop sensation (remember Jamiroquai kiddies?) one kohl-rimmed eye (well OK, two) of Marchesa Casati, one artist (Rachel Feinstein) to create the perfectly dilapidated set, shoes better set for one seriously fabulous pilgrim, and a whole lot of eccentric embellishments and you have yourself the kookiest (and probably least wearable) Marc collection to date. The best part, other than the clothes obviously, was the tune that played while the models sashayed down the set- "Who Will Buy?" File as so ironic/crazy/awesome.
