Recap: FNO at Beverly Center.

As I'm sure you all know, FNO this year was totes maj. From the freebies, to the GWPs, the mocktails and the cocktails there was fun to be had by all. Bloggers, celebs, models and more were out and about at Beverly Center and beyond to celebrate the ultimate shopping night and lucky for me, only one party-goer had the same F21 Exclusive Collection black and white chevron dress on as me (well, not technically a party-goer, but rather one of the gals walking in the exclusive Forever 21 fashion show). Although I was expecting some kind of catastrophic disaster that night (i.e. DJ playing Tyga's "Make it Nasty", photo booth falling over and crushing infants, models heads exploding, etc.) the event went on without a single hitch. Not only that, but I was so thrilled to see all the familiar faces out to support (#GoTeamForever). So with the bosses happy and wallet still full of money (couldn't even take a break to shop that night) I promise not the utter those three little letters for the next few months...seriously. File as let fashion week begin.

#FNOforever

Can you blame me for being away these past few days? The official disease that is spreading rampant this week, otherwise known as #FNOfever has taken me victim. I'm pretty sure my friends are completely sick of me saying those three little letters, but I have to admit that I am more than a little excited to get this party started. Being that this is my first official FNO with Forever 21, no expense was spared in the curating of the perfect outfit, not to mention the perfect party. Come stop by the Beverly Center and say hello if you're in town. Get your red lip done, snap a photo inside the giant Polaroid frame (#totesamaze), and sip on mocktails like you're not even 21 yet. I'll be the girl with the red lip running around with a ridiculously gigantic smile on my face the whole time. File as blot spot!

Lanvin Fall 2012.

For this Friday, I found no better runway show to feature than Lanvin's fall 2012 romp. And let me tell you, this was one collection to remember. Celebrating ten fabulous years, Alber Elbaz for Lanvin threw the party of all parties at his fall presentation. Guests rocked to a live band, ate a cake that if toppled, would have taken out more than a few of them, and lusted over some clothing that went from strong and bright to party perfect and back to all his classic embellishments. The fantasy he has spun for Lanvin for the past ten years has definitely been a defining moment in fashion, and going forward, it's anyone's guess where he'll take us next. File as party time.

DVF Fall 2012.

Remember earlier when I told you I loved you? Well, in honor of Valentine's Day, I wanted to share with you one more collection that is perfectly fit for today- whether you're dateless or not. DVF's fall collection, aptly titled 'Rendezvous' was full of seduction, bold colors, daring cuts, strong shapes and a little humor thrown in with those whimsical prints. Just the thing for today or better yet, the coming fall season. File as love.

Christian Dior Couture 2012.

If there was one collection that made me a believer of the future of fashion house of Christian Dior sans its former maestro John Galliano, it was Bill Gaytten's couture show this past week. Although stumbling about with his previous couture presentation and subsequent spring, fall, resort and pre-fall collections, he made a definitive statement for couture fashion week, just in time for the Oscars next month. What do you think Charlize Theron (the house's main Hollywood golden girl) will wear this time? File as back to life.

Giambattista Valli Couture 2012.

Oh my God, couture fashion week is here! Um, I'm fairly positive that I just finished my coverage of the pre-fall presentations this past week (stay tuned for a recap) but by no means am I complaining! Let's be real, this is probably one of my favorite weeks of the year- the couture shows mean crazy, sometimes Oscar-worthy and definitely awesome clothes that will only ever see the backs of the highest echelon of fashionistas around the world. Valli's second (ever) couture show may not have been the first (Versace beat him to it) but it was one of the most beautiful and inspired so far. I may be a California girl at heart, but sometimes I wish I could just be a Valli girl. File as love.

Valentino Pre-Fall 2012.

In a time where great uncertainty is now the norm, it's nice to know that we can at the very least count on Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli's romantically-charged presentations for Valentino. Last season it was Mexican bohemians and before that Russian princesses, this time it was more 1980's than a place, unless you count a slight nod to Studio 54 with all those pouffy skirts. One thing I am excited to see is just who will be turning up on the red carpet in the Oscar-worthy finale dress or that fabulous red jumpsuit (Emma Stone or a Fanning sister maybe for the latter? or perhaps Zoe Saldana for the former?) One thing is certain- it will be a look to die for. File as gorgeous.

10 Best Dressed: Golden Globes 2012.

Red carpet season is always an event in my household and the ladies walking down the red carpet at the Golden Globes were no disappointment this year. Although there were many sure things, lots of mermaid trains and many dresses that were curvy in all the right places, there was only one that made me gasp for all the right reasons. Tilda Swinton- the woman who usually turns up in something the critics hate yet the fashion crowd celebrates- pleased both masses with her periwinkle Haider Ackermann ensemble which made me a believer in this it-designer of the moment. But that's not to say that Jessica in Elie Saab, Charlize in Dior or Julianne in Chanel (all couture, mind you) weren't close contenders for best dressed. File as drama-rama.

Top Shots CFDA Awards 2011.

The lady of the night arrives. Her hair just might be my favorite color.

I'll always love a flush of feathers.

Chloe in one of her own designs. Playful and sweet.

Just stunning.

Hamish and Haider couldn't be styled any more different, but they're both impeccable.

May-jor earring action here.

Edited: Bazaar Turkey.

I couldn't help but post this arresting image of model Nadia Serlidou in ravishing red on the cover of Harper's Bazaar Turkey today because it is absolutely beautiful. But more importantly it fits in perfectly with the research I'm currently doing on fashion photography for my Histories of Photography class (that I just so happened to take for fun this summer). Looking into the library archives of Richard Avedon, Irving Penn, Steven Klein and Guy Bourdain makes me realize just how much photographers today adopt from these masters. Let the research continue! File under ah-mazing.

Playa del Carmen.

In honor of Cinco de Mayo, I thought no better way to celebrate the day than with a fabulous (virtual) vacation to Mexico or Playa del Carmen to be more exact. I can totally picture myself lounging on the beach enjoying a margarita and getting a nice little tan...that is until I realize that I'm really stuck in the library doing endless amounts of studying for finals. But hey, a girl can dream! Keep reading after the jump for the full itinerary and the perfect outfit for any Cinco de Mayo celebration, virtual or not.

Top Shots MFW Fall 2011 Part II.

Quite possibly the most perfect day look I've ever laid eyes on.

This one makes me miss all my fashionable Nordstrom girlfriends.

These girls know how to give good face.

Exquisite.

Check out the color combination in this outfit. And how could I resist her camo coat?

Color explosion!

D&G finale. So fun.

Seamless.

Inspired by all the fabulous clothing at New York Fashion Week, I've found it impossible not to notice the connection between runway and home decor right now. The Olsen sisters always do an impeccable job with The Row, but this year's collection was simply over-the-top drama for me. I loved every single fur, loafer and pant they sent down the runway. The textured red tones translate into the home seamlessly. File this one under my new fall look for home and myself.
