What's New Pussycat?
Ok, so I know I already professed my love for Soo Joo way back when... but with her new editorial in Harper's Bazaar Singapore, I'm falling all over again. Weeee! File as model crush.
P.S. Follow her on Instagram @SoojMooj if you're not already!

Model of the Moment: Soo Joo.
This Korea-born, California-bred model, is destined for stardom, especially after appearing in the Chanel haute couture show this past week and of course the Forever 21 Capsule 2.1 collection above (hellloooo.) Juicy tidbit: she jetted straight from the F21 set to Paris to be with the one and only Uncle Karl. Check out her interviews with Opening Ceremony and Vogue Italia, and try not to fall in love like I did. File as cutie pie.

ApartmentPhile: Black Beauty.
I'm not sure what the deal is with my current obsession with all things dark romance (hmm...very 'Fifty Shades' of me) but in my quest to pre-design the perfect studio space for my next apartment I have found it rather difficult to envision exactly what I want the living/lounging space to look like. I've gone back and forth with three other options (you can find the first here, the second here and the third here) and although this one does seem very close to the first, it brings in a little more direction to the actual pieces that I might purchase: a ghost chair for the hand-crafted desk (side note: I love my boss and her furniture-building maverick boyfriend), a black-dyed Indian rug, a charcoal tufted settee, black and white floral curtains with lots and lots of leopard accents, and maybe a leather club chair (just like that lived-in Proenza Schouler bag). Ok, and maybe one pop of color with that light pink/coral/plum pillow.
But all this does bring up the question: can I live with just one little pop of color in a pillow? Guess I'll have to sleep on this Fifty Shades... File as tied up.

Current Obsessions: Romance Intolerant.
Carrie may have asked that question in the final seasons of Sex and the City (yes, I still watch them on DVD; it's my thing, get over it!) and I even though may have asked that questions to myself a few times in the past; after this romantic wedding weekend for two of my best friends, I can't help but smile with it and not at it. Whether it's the pretty softness of the Valentino couture collection, the indescribable scent of the new Coco Noir fragrance (getting my hands on immediately if not sooner) matching twin doors, or a petite French pastry, I'm all about this new romance. File as last chance.

Art shmart; I'm all about these logos above. Done up of course in the most fabulous of watercolors, inks and florals (clearly obsessed...see the Roberto Cavalli Resort 2013 post below) these logos are re-imagined in a way that is truly stunning. File as loving.

---------Chanel Resort 2013--------
Although I may be stuck inside cleaning up the apartment I'm staying in on this rather beautiful Saturday, I'm dreaming of spending time in a glam garden in the heart of Versailles...much like the Chanel Resort presentation this month. Little Maries complete with bold wigs and dramatic tattoos flounced around Marie Antoinette's estate showing that the queen will always live. File as garden of earthly delights.

It Girl: Diane Kruger at Cannes 2012.

Diane was definitely having a moment during the Cannes film festival this past week- from premieres in Valli, to galas in Prabal and Chanel, and press junkets in a very daring (but oh, so perfect) Versus mini-dress- she stole the spotlight at every single event, red carpet or not. Oh, and her perfect accessory during the festival? Her eternally scruffy-cute boyfriend Pacey, I mean, Mr. Joshua Jackson. File as It girl status, well-deserved!

Insta-Files: Tough Stuff.
My weekend? Filled with mint Gap Body bralettes, creating new blog posts and pouring over the Chanel Resort collection (stay tuned for its fabulousness), hanging out with the best roommate ever (Sir Leo Jones) and of course...having to decide which pair of Jeffrey Campbell wedge sneakers to return to Nasty Gal. Torture. File as happy weekend, loves.

Decisions, decisions.
Why is nail color always so difficult to choose? My favorite right now has to be the nude, but that mint would be the perfect pop for this Easter Weekend. I hope everyone has a lovely time this weekend, whether it is extended or not (I would fall under the latter category) and whether you're spending time with friends and family (that'd be me!) or just curling up on the couch to spend a little quality time with yourself. One thing for sure is that I'll be repainting my nails this weekend...now if only I could pick just one color. File as tough one.

Best Dressed: Oscars 2012.
Sorry it took me like a year to get to this! Well, OK, maybe it took more like a few days, but I am practically bursting to share with you my best dressed from the Oscars on Sunday night. I would say that Emma Stone the second time around in Chanel was best dressed for the night, but I seriously cannot get over Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton or Stacy Keibler in Marchesa (totally knew someone would wear it, but was thinking it was a little closer to Jennifer Lopez's style.) Can I also just mention that I guessed right that the red ruffled pre-fall Valentino gown would be worn on the Oscar red carpet (the Vanity Fair party is close enough!) Just had to toot my own horn for a second there. File as four way tie.

Chanel Couture Spring 2012.
For spring Karl Lagerfeld took us down under to the sea but at his couture presentation last week, he brought us back up on dry land, well a little bit higher to be precise, all the way up into the open air. Air Chanel, departing from Paris, was a directional statement for the fashion house, yet the clothes weren't anywhere near what you'd wear on even a domestic flight. Instead he took from the air a lighter approach- the sparkly night sky on pantsuits, heavy clouds showed up in beaded dresses and the color palette was blue, blue, blue. Overall, what could have been like a bad Pan Am flight became something more exquisite, more refined and definitely more lust-worthy. File as arrived.

10 Best Dressed: Golden Globes 2012.
Red carpet season is always an event in my household and the ladies walking down the red carpet at the Golden Globes were no disappointment this year. Although there were many sure things, lots of mermaid trains and many dresses that were curvy in all the right places, there was only one that made me gasp for all the right reasons. Tilda Swinton- the woman who usually turns up in something the critics hate yet the fashion crowd celebrates- pleased both masses with her periwinkle Haider Ackermann ensemble which made me a believer in this it-designer of the moment. But that's not to say that Jessica in Elie Saab, Charlize in Dior or Julianne in Chanel (all couture, mind you) weren't close contenders for best dressed. File as drama-rama.

Chanel Spring 2012.
Sorry to get this one to you so late, but I really wanted to share my final favorite collection at Paris Fashion Week, none other than Chanel. Like designers before him, he created an underwater world for his models complete with gigantic shells, (one of which Florence Welch emerged from to sing What the Water Gave Me) lots of sea-creature inspired designs and all the colors of the coral reef. My favorite moment overall? The pearl studded spines that ran down each of the models backs, reminding us that the sea is the backbone to all life. File as spectacular.

Birds of a Feather.
I don't know if it's my friend's whirlwind wedding planning, all the girlfriend time I've been having of late or my uncontrollable desire to make my apartment a little bit more girly but I am feeling totally drawn to these peachy pink lovelies today. File as gorg.

Chanel Couture Fall 2011.
It's incomprehensible how Karl Lagerfeld is able to create collections after collections that not only reference the narrative of the woman who started it all, the woman being Mademoiselle Coco Chanel and it being the brand, but also show them in a way that seems completely fresh. This time around, the setting was the Place Vendôme, in neon nonetheless, where the girls (mostly in somber black, a color Coco found endlessly intriguing) sauntered around in the starry glittering night. One thing I couldn't help but realize from this show is that black (and Chanel) will always both be considered ultimate classics. File under perfection.

Best Dressed Cannes Film Festival.
The Cannes Film Festival continues to be one of the most over-the-top, all out glamorous film festivals in the world. I mean, how often do you wear your biggest ball gown to go see a movie? And what I love about the whole event, not only the great new movies that come out of it, but also the fresh fashion that struts down all the red carpets that week. From a feathery fun Pucci frock to showcase Anja Rubik's perfect limbs to Janet Jackson's curve hugging Ackermann confection or the strategic cutouts of Giovanna Battaglia's barely-there dress these eight ladies know exactly how to show off their best assets. Check out what each of these eight wore, after the jump, as well as one honorable mention! File under gorgeous.
