Punk: Chaos to Couture.

Just a little taste of one of my fave parts of my visit to New York a few weeks ago. Oh, and don't tell me that this is the least punk thing ever... earmuffs. File as punk love.

It Girl: Aimee Song

Currently obsessing over one of Aimee Song's newer collabos with Vogue Spain for a 7 Days/7 Looks feature. The filtering on these photos, the relaxed feel of the whole thing, and obvs the peek into her home - file as can't stop looking.

Wakey, wakey, eggs and bakey.

Fantasy:

Reality:

Don't you just wish that Monday's could be less hectic and more, well, glamorously leisurely. Is that even grammatically correct? Eff it, it's Monday.

P.S. Find the rest of the Valli Couture Spring 2013 collection here.

Model of the Moment: Soo Joo.

This Korea-born, California-bred model, is destined for stardom, especially after appearing in the Chanel haute couture show this past week and of course the Forever 21 Capsule 2.1 collection above (hellloooo.) Juicy tidbit: she jetted straight from the F21 set to Paris to be with the one and only Uncle Karl. Check out her interviews with Opening Ceremony and Vogue Italia, and try not to fall in love like I did. File as cutie pie.

ApartmentPhile: My Next Place Option III.

My boss got me thinking today. Not just about the massive to-do list I have looming over my head this week, but also about my current home situation. Instead of contemplating if the coupons were finished printing I had my mind wrapped up in duvets, chaises, and directional storage options. (Call it a job hazard if you like, but my mind often wanders to these places, unguided.) So her quest reminded me of my quest to decide my next apartment style whether it be funky, boho and super luxe like option two or chic, masculine and rich like option one. Now, I have another option to throw into the mix. It's a little less cold as the first option, a little more girly than the second and a whole lot closer to what I'm used to. Hey, I've been a single gal living on my own for quite some time...a little pink never hurt anyone. File as another choice.

In House: Tabitha Simmons.

Tabitha Simmons may live a charmed life as contributing editor at Vogue among other magazines, and her home reflects that to a T. With an understated palette, splashed with pops of excitement- take for example that butterfly rug, the hidden oasis in the backyard or all those fabulous light fixtures- I'm not sure how she ever leaves her home. File as staying in.

Edited: Kick Up Your Heels.

Kick up your heels ladies, it's the weekend! And not only is it my final weekend living in the Bay Area, but it is also my dear friend's birthday to boot. So it looks like I'll be all over the Bay for the next few days, enjoying my last weekend before jetting off for a family holiday in New York and finishing this year off right. I hope you all will do the same! File as cheers.

Ol' Hallow's Eve.

Today may be Friday, but what I'm more looking forward to is the Halloween party my dear friend is throwing on Saturday. Although my mother already has her outfit planned out for her trip to Vegas (so jealous) I'm still stuck on what to wear to the house soiree. I have two days to figure it out...I'm hoping that I'll be able to come up with something that is better than my mother's Little Red Riding Hood (finger's crossed.) Hope you all have a candy-filled Halloween even if you won't be dressing up. File as spooky.

Dress up.

I am using just about any excuse to get all dressed up nowadays. Blame it on those cute little dresses in the back of my closet that are begging to be worn or the sudden obsession in wearing as many bracelets as possible, but I am all about gilding the lily. So dust off those jewels of yours this weekend, wear a ridiculously outrageous dress out with the girls and forget that dusty advice that you should take one piece off before leaving the house. Pile it on baby. File as weekend time!

Edited: Fried.

Oh, what an extended weekend it has been! Quite frankly I am feeling mentally and physically fried, and my hair seems to be following suit (just like the crimped mane above.) But even though the week just started, and it's already Tuesday, I have some lovely little gems coming up over the next few days to share with you! Stay tuned for a getaway that I jetted off a little over a month ago, a new It Girl for the week, a few new items to covet and some home decor that I just can't stop obsessing among others. File under feeling better already.

It Girl: Kate Lanphear.

Kate may just be the name of the moment, but today there is one more style-setting Kate to add to the list. This Kate is the Senior Style Editor at US Elle but held positions at Vogue Australia and Harper's Bazaar (in both Australia and the US) before landing the coveted Elle position. One thing that I can't get enough of is how true to her own style this Kate is- edgy, androgynous and punk with touches of glamour (take those Christian Louboutin fringe booties or those little skirts she rocks.) Rarely photographed in a color other than black, white or grey, this It Girl just goes to show that you don't mess with a good thing. Fear her, you should. File under hardcore.

Cover Girls.

August  may not be here, but its magazine covers are! And what a bunch they are. Whether its celebrating the fabulous city life, showing the ultimate beach getaway or just showcasing some amazingly beautiful fall fashion, these cover girls all know how to raise their arms for the end of summer and the beginning of something fabulous. File under can't wait to see what's inside these glossy lovelies.

Edited: Shiny, Black and Dirty.

Raquel Zimmermann perfectly looks the part with equal doses of S&M black leather and ladylike polish against the dirty street in Vogue China's latest shoot by Willy Vanderperre. Even though these silhouettes are definitely mod, she makes them look completely modern for this decade. File as naughty and nice.

Edited: Laundry Day.

Even though I've been away from my computer for the past few days, I have yet to complete many of the things on my to-do list for this weekend. Most of them involve cleaning, and so I was pleasantly surprised to find some great inspiration in the form of Vogue Germany's new spread of Ginta Lapina doing just that- cleaning up. So although I spent yesterday exploring the new Picasso exhibit at the De Young with some new friends (more on that early in the week) the rest of my weekend will be spent doing all those boring tasks on my list, the largest of which would be cleaning my apartment. I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend...even if you are just working down your to-do list like me. File under messy.

Oh, and keep reading after the jump for one picture that I just couldn't resist although do so at your own risk (it's not so safe for work.)

It Girl: LSD.

No, the 60s are not back. LSD stands for one thing only on the.margaret.files. and one thing only- the eternally cool It Girl otherwise known as Lauren Santo Domingo. Her resume includes an undergraduate degree from USC (University of Southern California, not spoiled children), chair to many of New York's hottest society events, founder of Trunk Show Inc. (a venture aimed at getting looks straight off the runway to the wealthy few who can afford them), had her high profile wedding featured in Vogue (hello), edits the online APT with LSD for Vogue.com (sharing some of the most fashionable apartments out there) and ok, you get the point. This girl wears many hats, or rather many dresses and looks fabulous while doing it all making her the It Girl of the week. File this one as city chick.

It Girl: Taylor Tomasi.

As the style and accessories editor for the American Marie Claire, former editor at Teen Vogue and possible up and coming fashion director at Barney's New York, Taylor Tomasi clearly has a pedigree worthy of an It Girl. Her love of bright colors is as of no surprise, I mean just look at her fabulous hair; and she almost makes me wish that I could be a redhead too. File as work it.
