When did things get so complicated and confusing? Ok, I know, loaded question...but seriously replace the word things with getting dressed in the morning and you have my daily struggle to put together a serious outfit that is actually worth wearing. Maybe I've been working these buns too hard or maybe I've just felt like I am in need of some wardrobe revamping, but one thing is certain: I miss the easy days. Insert J.Crew's Fall 2013 collection. Timeless, sophisticated and above all else, totally wearable. When again will I be able to shop this? File as back to the closet.

I've been hearing a lot lately about this phenomenon called transitional dressing. Since weather in Los Angeles is almost perennially summer, I haven't had to deal with such nonsense; however now that I'm jetting to NYC in a few weeks and it's about negative thirty degrees there (actual forecast in the 20s) I've got my work cut out for me. Ideally, I'd like to bring all the same items that I'd rock in LA, just maybe with three parkas piled on top. Black booties, a printed pant, and an easy tee are exactly what the doctor ordered. Now I just need to find a super fabulous coat (maybe something fur?) to top it off with. File as let the hunt begin.

If that picture of Lindsey Wixson isn't a beauty ad right there, than I don't know anything anymore. The Valli girls are always perfection walking down the runway (especially for his couture presentations- relive Spring 2012 and Fall 2012 with a click) and last week was no exception. It felt straight out of a fairy tale, filled with intricate embroideries to die for, secret garden floral flourishes, exaggerated shapes for days and the most gorgeous non-existant makeup ever. File as Cinderella.

Ok, I have been sitting on this post for entirely too long. Can we just sit and contemplate Natasha Goldenberg's PFW Spring/Summer 2013 outfit above. I mean, really, take a moment because this outfit is worth it, period. I'd like to think of it as a chic advanced style Ninja Turtle gone mad, but the one word that it definitely is (in my mind at least) is perfection. No, it wasn't the moving day that I have really been hoping for...but it will suffice nonetheless! With a new office (what it lacks in windows to the outside world it definitely makes up for with white, ridiculously oversized offices) I can't help but be happy that I feel like I'm moving someplace new. ApartmentPhile: My Next Place Option III.

My boss got me thinking today. Not just about the massive to-do list I have looming over my head this week, but also about my current home situation. Instead of contemplating if the coupons were finished printing I had my mind wrapped up in duvets, chaises, and directional storage options. (Call it a job hazard if you like, but my mind often wanders to these places, unguided.) So her quest reminded me of my quest to decide my next apartment style whether it be funky, boho and super luxe like option two or chic, masculine and rich like option one. Now, I have another option to throw into the mix. It's a little less cold as the first option, a little more girly than the second and a whole lot closer to what I'm used to. Hey, I've been a single gal living on my own for quite some time...a little pink never hurt anyone. File as another choice.

My mother and I just so happen to see eye to eye on many things. Shoes, being one of these. And these wedges from Topshop (that I have been lusting after for weeks) were one more reason why I love my mother so much. Not just because she is my favorite shopping companion and she sent these to me while on her most recent Vegas vacation, but mostly because she understands the absolute pleasure that a pair of shoes can bring when you're having a not so great week. As I'm sure you very well know by now, nothing gets my heart aflutter quite like haute couture fashion week (well maybe a pair of Topshop shoes as well) but it is this fabulous week that the creme-de-la-creme of couturiers come out to play....not to mention the leagues of editrexes, fashionistas and bloggers that come out of hiding to bask in the best that fashion has to offer. Can you feel my excitement through the computer? I mean really, and with Giambattista Valli's show complete with butterflies, the newest it accessory aka the hairnet (stay tuned for more of that) and flowers (whether in prints or in 3D) exploding from every look I just couldn't get enough. File as garden delights.
